I just came out of my seven month internship at WnG Solutions a web agency based in Lausanne. It was a great experience and I had a lot of new material I had learned over there and I couldn't wait to apply it to real life experiences.
A teacher asked our class if people would be interested in volunteering as an Editorial assistant during the Lift 14 conference. Since we had a week off before starting school again I thought it would be a great opportunity and I was right !
The conference lasted three days, but I also came the days before to help installing the stands and preparing the conference to become the success it was. I started stapling things, but I quickly switched into social media planning and searching for influencers we could interact with during the conference. It was the first time I covered a live event so I was very excited and eager to learn new methods and tools.
My task was to live tweet, and cover the live conferences and workshops with the great help of the editorial team that has been put together.
I met great people and got to connect with very interesting personalities. I discovered a new way of using twitter and how to interact live with a conference (attendee's, followers, speakers etc.).
I am now a lifter and I am really looking forward to going there next year !
